TwinTeams didn't start as a theory about remote teams. It started because LogicalCube needed engineers.
During COVID, we began building engineering capability in Vietnam to support our own customers, at a time when competition for senior people was fierce. We recruited them, equipped them, and ran them inside real delivery: large customer-facing web platforms and financial trading systems.
What we saw was consistent: engineers who stay accumulate product knowledge. Engineers who rotate reset it.
This process evolved into a working playbook for hires: the recruitment, the verification standard, the operating team. TwinTeams is that playbook turned into a product, built for ourselves first and now offered to companies with the same problem we had.
I founded TwinTeams after twenty years building engineering teams in demanding environments.
LogicalCube began in the UK in 2008. My early career was in enterprise engineering delivery, including the Lloyd's of London insurance market, Hiscox, ASOS and EMI.
During that period, I worked with Thoughtworks delivery teams and followed Matthew Skelton's work at Trainline, which later became central to Team Topologies. That external reference has become one of the strongest influences on how we think about team design.
After moving to Australia, I worked across growth engineering and delivery environments including William Hill and Endeavour Group (ASX:EDV), one of Australia's largest listed companies.
The lesson was consistent: dedicated, senior, ring-fenced teams outperform teams without customer alignment.
